The work in front of us
Image, Story, and Consent Standards asks for proportion. The page does not demand a final answer before a person has had time to observe, listen, compare sources, and understand who else is connected to the material.
Family material often arrives in fragments. A photograph without names, a sentence repeated by an aunt, a document folded into a drawer, a route described from memory, or a person who never wanted to talk about the past. None of this is nothing. None of it should be rushed into a public claim. The first responsibility is to preserve the wording, context, and permissions around what has been shared.

That distinction protects people from being turned into content and keeps a future reader from confusing a family account with a settled historical conclusion. The Society treats contradiction as part of the record, not a nuisance to erase.
