Our People
A people is not a mood board, a surname search, or a row of intake fields. It is a field of relationships: who remembers, who teaches, who makes, who returns, who stays, who is trusted with a story, and who does the work after the gathering ends.
The work in front of us
The Society gives public language to family, diaspora, contribution, and gradual learning without converting cultural participation into a parallel body for formal tribal qualification. Its concern is not to turn uncertainty into a slogan. It is to create a public place where people can take a responsible next step without pretending that every question has been settled.
Culture is carried through arrangements of attention. Who has time to explain, who knows the route, who keeps a document, who notices that a story has been simplified, who is carrying too much, and who is permitted to speak. Those conditions are more revealing than an abstract declaration of belonging.
What this page makes possible
A public site can make a field of relationships visible without claiming to own every relationship within it. That means showing where to learn, where to share work, where to find practical resources, and where a question must be directed to a different authority.
A practical move
Name three people who shaped your sense of Puerto Rico or Caribbean Indigenous life. Choose one relationship, source, or piece of work you can strengthen this month.
